Comfort on tap at Everards Meadows Beer Hall
Everards Meadows is a vibrant community space where the best of the outdoors and local food and drink come together in one place. Set in 70 acres of beautiful green space, at the heart of the Meadows is its state-of-the-art Beer Hall - a large, contemporary venue offering delicious food, alongside a unique array of exceptional home-brewed beers, and an enticing selection of wines, spirits, cocktails and hot drinks. Designed as an open, social venue, the Beer Hall caters for a wide mix of visitors, from families and groups of friends to those calling in more casually.
As a busy public venue, the Beer Hall sees a constant flow of customers throughout the day. With doors opening frequently and people moving between indoor and outdoor spaces, maintaining a stable and consistent indoor temperature was essential for Everards. Its aim was to ensure guests could settle in and enjoy their time, whether they were popping in for a quick drink or staying for the long haul.
To support this, two customised JS Zen air curtains were installed above the Beer Hall doorways. Selected for their minimalist, designer-led appearance, the units were painted to blend seamlessly with the hall’s distinctive décor, ensuring the focus remains on the space itself - not the technology behind it.

The Zen air curtains do exactly that - they help maintain a consistent temperature and blend in beautifully with the surroundings.”
Positioned above the main entrances, the powerful Zen units help stabilise internal temperatures by preventing the loss of conditioned air as people come and go. By forming an invisible barrier across the doorways, the air curtains play an important role in the building’s energy management, keeping draughts at bay and maintaining a comfortable indoor climate, especially in winter. Regular servicing by the JS team helps keep the air curtains operating efficiently to deliver reliable performance over time, and ensure the Beer Hall remains welcoming all year round.
The Zen air curtain is designed for commercial spaces where appearance is just as important as performance. Its straight-line airflow design improves efficiency, while quiet operation makes it ideal for social environments such as bars, restaurants and hospitality venues.
Alongside its performance strengths, the Zen offers a high level of design flexibility. Its smart, minimalistic form can be enhanced with bespoke fascia panels, allowing units to blend seamlessly into their surroundings, or act as subtle brand features. Options such as colour-matched finishes, CAD or laser-cut lettering, edge-lit details, or functional additions like integrated clocks make the Zen particularly well suited to venues where identity, design, and atmosphere are part of the overall feel.
