Air curtains for chill stores and freezers

By installing an air curtain above the doorway of a chill store or freezer, a wall of ambient air is created that seals the internal and external atmospheres. This maintains the internal temperature without the use of fast acting roller doors or plastic slats, whilst also providing unhindered access and visibility to forklift drivers.
Any cold store which uses fast acting doors or slats will have cold spots outside the entrance whenever the door is used. Also, warm air that enters the refrigerated area during these times can lead to condensation and icing occurring near to the doorway. By using an air curtain, these problems are prevented as the doorway is continually sealed, even during use.
Fast acting doors require frequent maintenance and are easily damaged. Plastic slat curtains, although transparent when installed, fast become greasy and opaque with use. Both these problems can also be avoided by using air curtains.
