Retail air curtains

By employing an air curtain above an external door of a retail outlet passing trade has been known to increase by as much as 40%.
An open door is an invitation for anyone walking past to come in. However in the colder months, this causes the shop to become very cold, especially to anyone near the entrance. This can shorten the length of time customers browse in a store and is also very uncomfortable for staff working in a cold environment.
By having an air curtain just inside an external door a barrier of air is created that will keep the cold air out and the warm air in even with the door open. The temperature within the store can be maintained whilst also presenting an inviting appearance to a shop.
Not only is passing trade maximised on but staff and customer comfort increased.
An air curtain can also act as a supplementary heating source and in small shops can be the only heat source required.
By preventing heated air from escaping, energy bills can be reduced in the winter. However, as air conditioned air costs more to produce than heated air, by using an ambient air curtain this same principal will save energy in the summer time as well.
